![]() Having experienced great success in the industry over the years, TUDOR relaunched in 2009 elevating the brand to a world class standing. For instance, one of the first collections included the Oyster Prince, a waterproof design that later became a range of diving watches. This also meant TUDOR was now creating a diverse range of watches, all of which had been designed and developed with specific functions and needs in mind. Over time, TUDOR moved into the tool watch market, which saw timepieces being widely adopted for use by a number of professional organisations including the Navy, armies and expedition teams who all valued the brand’s commitment to quality. The brand first achieved this by pairing off-the-shelf watch movements with the high quality cases and bracelets used by Rolex leading to TUDOR’s popularity and increased brand awareness. TUDOR was the result of Wilsdorf’s dream to create timepieces with all the dependability and quality of a Rolex, but at a price point which made them more attainable to the masses. The initial concept was conceived by Hans Wilsdorf, the visionary founder of Rolex, who was the creator of some of the world’s most exclusive and sought after watches. The TUDOR watch brand dates back to 1926 in Switzerland.
